The Tortoise and the Hare

 Authors: Aesop

Once upon a time in a lush green meadow, a confident hare named Harry and a determined tortoise named Toby decided to have a race. The animals gathered around, excited to witness this unusual competition.

As the race began, Harry, being naturally fast, quickly took the lead. He glanced back, saw Toby far behind, and smirked confidently. Toby, however, remained unfazed. "Speed won't always guarantee victory," he thought to himself.

As the race progressed, Toby's slow and steady pace started to annoy Harry. Impatiently, Harry shouted, "Hurry up, Toby! I'm practically winning already!"

Toby replied calmly, "Patience, my friend. Slow and steady wins the race."

Despite Tobie's advice, Harry couldn't resist bragging. "I'm unbeatable! No one can beat my speed!"

Smiling to himself, Toby said, "You underestimate the power of perseverance."

As they approached the finish line, the hare grew tired and decided to take a quick nap, convinced he had already won. As he dozed off, Toby crawled past him without waking him up.

Startled, Harry awoke just in time to see Toby crossing the finish line. "How did you?... I... I thought I was winning!" stuttered Harry, bewildered.

With a kind smile, Toby said, "Remember, Harry, it's not always about being the fastest. It's about being determined and never giving up."

Harry, humbled by his defeat, nodded in agreement, understanding the importance of perseverance and patience.

And so, Toby the tortoise proudly won the race, leaving a valuable lesson for everyone to learn - that slow and steady can indeed win the race.
