Crow and the Pitcher

 Author: Aesop

Once upon a time, in a forest plagued by a fierce drought, a thirsty Crow desperately searched for water. It had been days since he had quenched his thirst, and his body ached with dehydration. Just when he thought he might meet his untimely demise, he stumbled upon a pitcher hidden beneath a bush. A glimmer of hope flickered in the Crow's weary eyes.

                Crow: "Oh, finally! Water!"

However, following closer inspection, the Crow discovered that the pitcher's design was unworkable. Its narrow neck prevented him from reaching the water within.

Crow: "No! How can I drink when I can't even dip my beak?"

An idea sparked within the Crow's mind, giving him a glimmer of hope.

"I'll try using pebbles to raise the water level!" says Crow.

With renewed zeal, the Crow retrieved small pebbles from the neighboring ground and carefully deposited them one by one into the pitcher. The water level in the vessel rose with each pebble that entered it.

Crow: "It's working! Just a bit more..."

With every pebble, the water rose, tantalizingly close to the Crow's beak. Finally, the water level rose to the point where the thirsty bird could drink its life-giving elixir.

                Crow: "Ah, sweet relief!"

The Crow sipped his drink, promising to remember what he had learned.

Crow: "In a pinch, a fine use of our brains may come in handy.
