  1. Mutually accountable
  2. Motivation
  3. Team collaboration
  4. Effective communication
  5. Team composition
  6. Respect of the group leader

  1. Mutually accountable

Each individual should be responsible for organizing their own work. They don’t blame one another for team mistakes and failures. No one should waste time in personal justifications. On team based tasks, the workload is divided evenly among the group.

  1. Motivation

A very important attribute of effective teams is whether the team members are highly-motivated. Motivation refers to the energy, amount of effort, and urgency at which a team or group is predisposed to accomplish a goal.

  1. Team collaboration

Collaboration involves seeking help when problems arise and sharing suggestions with one another. Everyone believes in the power of group genius, leverages each other’s strengths, and partners effectively – all with the larger goal and purpose in mind. Creating positive relationships with colleagues can make for a much more relaxed environment and reduce conflicts.

  1. Effective communication

A team with open communication allows members to discuss their ideas and feel that their input matters. Effective communication also involves active listening, where members make a conscious effort to hear their teammates' ideas and reflect before responding to them.

Members communicate effectively with each other, sharing their thoughts, opinions, and ideas with members of their team; as well as taking into consideration what others have to say.

  1. Team composition

The composition of the team has an impact on team performance. Teams are composed in-order to maximize team effectiveness; members can be selected to have optimal fit with other team members and the team task.

  1. Respect of the group leader

Respect of the team leader is of essence. This individual essentially works as the glue holding the team together and should be responsible for setting the pace, offers encouragement and motivation, and keeps all members of the team updated.
